...serene but in need of feeling free...

August 3! wow! it's been a minute since the last update.
so much to tell...so little space..so little time...
where do i begin...

my basement flooded when Katrina passed over Toronto. i am in no way complaining...because i have so much compared to the losses suffered in New Orleans. but when your computer, television and dvd player were all in your basement...as an internet and movie addict, i've been going stir crazy in this house for the last few weeks. luckily the insurance will be covering the damage, but at this point it's a matter of waiting for them to work their way down their list of the other thousand or so homes whose damage they need to assess.

so how am i on the 'net if there's no connection at home? i told you, i'm a junkie dammit. i always find a way. right now, i'm at my cousin's under the pretense that i'm updating her virus settings. heh!

moving on...
work is STRESSING me. ever since returning from Trinidad, i've been 10hr days, 4-5 days per week. it ain't fun. it's even less fun when you aren't enjoying your job. the plus side, is that this has helped me to realize that i want to go back to do my Master's Degree. so now, the focus is on saving money for my tuition.

lastly...
i've made a new 'friend'. i'm such a girl, i'm smiling just typing this. there's a comfort level with him that i have rarely had with any other 'significants'. but of course...there would have to be issues to the relationship. numero uno...i suspect that he slept with a friend of mine a while back. i haven't confirmed this, because he doesn't know i'm friends with her and i haven't told her any details about this new situation. but it's something that i'm weighing because part of me doesn't want to know and then another part does. the plus (as another friend pointed out) despite the fact that she's a friend...homegirl is a little slack. so he's one of many who've been with her. issue number two...he's a tad bit older. a tad = more than 10 years (i refuse to acknowledge how much more than ten; just know i'm 26 and he sure ain't 37). two female friends who i spoke to about it had an immediate negative reaction as did the 'former best friend' who i resorted to consulting because i really needed his advice. at first, i was extremely wary after hearing the age difference. but as i noted above, he makes me smile and elicits a level of comfort. things have been slowly warming up...i'm at the point where i'm just going with the flow and i'll see where this leads. believe me when i say, i plan on enjoying the ride.

toodles.

serene but in need of feeling free, that's a D'angelo quote, yes? Or maybe he was quoting someone else. Anyway, I don't know you, just sort of stumbled upon you, as one does on the internet, and that being a lyric that always spoke to me, I had to stop.
